Joanne is from Peoria, AZ and is 42 years old. She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in April of 2018. Joanne and her husband Josh live locally near An Oasis of Healing, so they were able to travel daily to our healing center for her treatment and therapies. Joanne was treated for 8 weeks at An Oasis of Healing. Her original PET scan at another facility showed that Joanne had cancer in a few areas of her breasts and possible lymph nodes. At the beginning of her 8th week here, Dr. Goodyear sent me for another PET scan. What it revealed is the uptake was so low which meant there was no active cancer. Joanne and Josh were thrilled to hear that although still in shock from the good news. Joanne stated that “she was just as shocked when she received her original diagnosis as she was when she found out she was cancer-free”. Joanne became emotional saying how she was so grateful to come out of this feeling so healthy especially around the Holidays and will now be able to spend quality time with her kids. She is grateful that her kids didn’t have to see her become really sick. Her kids had asked her questions during her treatment like, why aren’t you going bald? They asked this because that’s what they associate with cancer, going bald and eventually dying. Those were some tough conversations with our kids. Joanne stated it was great to be able to tell her kids that those things weren’t doing to happen as a result of the treatments, therapies, and detoxification taking place. She stated, “the effects of the ITP treatments and other treatments just don’t stick around or have long terms effects or even short-term effects”. She further stated she and Josh are “super grateful to be on this end of it and just celebrating life and living life with our family and friends”.
