Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma treatment is helping to restore Jamie’s health!
In April of 2017, Jamie, a nurse from Oregon, was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC). ACC is an “uncommon form of malignant neoplasm that arises within secretory glands, most commonly the major and minor salivary glands of the head and neck.” It has been described as “indolent but relentless.”
For Jamie, what followed was a year of struggling to find hope in a bleak situation.
“I had symptoms for several years and then I went to a few different doctors,” she shared. “I was misdiagnosed a couple times with the facial neuralgia because I was having pain in my face. There were a couple of medications that my doctors wanted me to go on, but I was a little apprehensive, so I started looking at some alternative treatments.
Even then, her symptoms got worse and eventually, she got a biopsy which confirmed there was cancer. She was advised that her main treatment options were surgery and radiation. “The plan was to have surgery to take out half of my face and reconstruct all of this,” Jamie said.
After the preliminary scan, they found “a mess” on her liver which they planned to remove through surgery. But further scans revealed metastatic spots on the insides of her abdominal wall and in her lungs. They aborted the surgery, and Jamie was left with hardly any options.
She added, “I remember asking my oncologist, ‘Is there anything else I can do, nutrition-wise? Is there anything I can be doing to help myself at home?’ At that point, you’re just reaching for straws trying to figure out something that you can do. I was told, ‘No, you know diet doesn’t matter.’ It leaves you feeling pretty helpless and hopeless.”
Jamie ended up in a clinical trial in February. But before that, she took charge of her own health. “I started doing research on natural medicine and some natural healing. I started doing juicing and changed my diet pretty radically. I made sure I was exercising and doing saunas,” she shared.
In July, after months of pain and extreme discomfort, she decided to finally pursue an alternative treatment option.
Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Treatment provided under An Oasis of Healing’s Guidance
When Jamie first called An Oasis of Healing, she was expecting to get the “runaround.” But Andy, from the front desk, proved to be the exact opposite. “He spent a good half-hour with me on the phone, just answering some questions. I hung up the phone feeling like there’s more we can do. You’re not alone and you’re not a lost cause,” he explained.
Even before checking in, she was able to experience the personalized and attentive service of the Arizona-based team. She furthered, “I had a few extra questions and so I called and talked to Dr. Goodyear and he answered all of those questions for me and made the whole process so easy.”
After everything that she went through in the conventional treatment system, only to be left feeling worse, the feeling, and the fact, that there was a team behind her—preparing everything, making the big decisions and working on restoring her health—was crucial for Jamie.
She also appreciated the “nutrition-forward” approach of the treatment path. “You’re constantly not just eating food that is good for you, but you are learning about why it is good for cancer-fighting,” Jamie added. “Where else do you go where your doctor is readily available all the time? If you have a question, he’s walking around he’ll come and eat lunch with you answer questions. You just don’t get that in mainstream medicine. Here, the nurses are one step ahead of you all the time, just looking at everything.”
And even during days when she was not feeling that great, she knows that “everyone’s going to come alongside you, help you and carry you when you’re feeling weak.”
As Jamie prepared to leave An Oasis of Healing, she brings with her knowledge that will make a lasting impact on her life. More importantly, she goes home with a renewed sense of hope and health.
“I’m going home prepared and empowered to continue this life journey at home,” she said. “My cancer is getting better, it’s going away. It’s such a unique opportunity to be a part of something like this. I feel incredibly grateful.”

Joanne has shared the heartwarming story of her recovery from breast cancer
In April of this year, Joanne, a 42-year-old wife, and mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It came as a shock to the family. And as expected, the conversations, especially with their kids, were difficult. Her recovery from breast cancer is detailed here.
“My kids would ask me questions like, ‘When do you become bald?’ Because that’s what they associate with cancer. Being bald and dying. Those were some tough conversations to have with our kids,” she shared.
Almost eight months later, on the 8th week of her treatment at An Oasis of Healing, she was in for other shocking news—her PET scan revealed that there was no active cancer. Joanne is cancer-free.
“We were thrilled with that and we were shocked,” she said. “Just as much as we were shocked to get the diagnosis, we are still in shock that I’m cancer-free. We’re coming out on the other side so healthy and grateful, especially going into the holiday season, to have that time with our kids.”
Quality of life in treatment
When she was diagnosed, Joanna started with a conventional treatment center. She “felt great” with the first doctor she spoke to after they agreed on the importance of nutrition in the healing process.
However, the other members of the medical team did not share that view. And when Joanne and her husband, Josh, walked around the facility and saw the patients, she felt it in her gut.
She explained, “That’s not the kind of treatment I want to have. And I didn’t want my kids to see me like that. That was my first take on the quality of life of a conventional treatment plan versus an integrative, more holistic plan that Oasis provides.”
Recovery From Breast Cancer Is Possible When The Right Healing Protocol Is Followed
Josh added, “It was quite a different picture when we walked into an Oasis of Healing. We looked at the other patients and they looked like they were on their journey of health and recovery.”
Prior to going to An Oasis of Healing, Joanne had already been on a health and wellness journey, learning about the body and its natural healing capabilities. She also started on the diet aspect of the program by going vegan, raw, organic and by juicing.
When she finally went to An Oasis of Healing, she immediately felt the difference—from the warmth and support of the team to the impressive facilities and staff to patient ratio. And because she had prepared her body, the nutrition aspect of the program, which can feel drastic for patients who are used to a less conscious diet and lifestyle, was “not too much of a shock” for Joanne.
Oasis School of Life
An Oasis of Healing has a unique and comprehensive cancer care program anchored on the Oasis School of Life—a precise curriculum designed to accomplish three goals: change a patient’s knowledge base about health and wellness; empower them to acquire skills to live a life of wellness; and enable them to experience long-term and sustainable health.
Part of the initial four-week course is steps to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit as well as hands-on training including how to prepare food without destroying nutrient content and creating palatable raw meals and beverages that enhance the body’s immune system and natural healing abilities.
This life-changing learning and healing journey have helped patients like Joanne to empower themselves to, not just heal from cancer, but also to prevent it from returning. “We’re just super grateful to be where we are now, celebrating and living life with our family and our friends,” she said.

Many people to this day still ask do alternative cancer treatments work?
This was my response to someone who asked, “If these cancer treatments work, then why isn’t it used for all cancer patients worldwide?”
Just connect the dots. The only research that’s considered legitimate is the one that gets published by the pharmaceutical industry. Their research is allowed into the most prestigious journals.
There’s an overwhelming amount of information and research about intravenous vitamin C and other such therapies including insulin potentiated therapies but they never make it to the big medical journals.
Therefore, they are not considered legitimate. As a result, most oncologists and other physicians have no idea about these other therapies. And those people involved with keeping both the medical professionals and the public blinded to non-pharmaceutically based research sometimes do get discovered.
Integrative Cancer Therapies Is What Needs To Be Taught In Medical Schools
The US pharmaceutical industry represents approximately 45% of the total pharmaceutical industry worldwide. It was valued in 2016 at approximately $446 billion in sales annually.
Cutting edge chemo drugs cost more than $60,000 a month. And the average monthly cost per drug is $10,000. The problem is this approach doesn’t work.
Sadly, less than 5% of the people diagnosed with stage 4 cancer are alive in five years. That’s why the world is hungry for approaches that are not only effective but with minimal side effects.
One of the saddest truths of all is that most people with cancer do not die from cancer. They die as a result of the treatments. A comprehensive program of multiple IV therapies, including low dose chemo with insulin as well as colon hydrotherapy, lymphatic therapies, oxygen therapies, plant-based raw organic food and juices, education/training, as well as yoga and other areas all cost as much as chemotherapy alone.
However, these more holistic comprehensive cancer care programs are not covered by insurance so the out of pocket costs are much greater. This is an absolute tragedy for humanity!

Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Treatment Helps Restore Jamie’s Health https://www.anoasisofhealing.com/patient-testimonials/ Adenoid cystic carcinoma treatment helps restore Jamie’s health at An Oasis of Healing. Jamie B is 40 years old and lives in Grants Pass, Oregon. Jamie was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma which is a head and neck cancer in April of 2017. She worked with a Naturopathic doctor while in Oregon before coming to An Oasis of Healing who helped her understand all the treatments and therapies, we would be doing to help her heal. Jamie called and spoke with Dr. Goodyear before coming to Arizona. She stated that “he answered all of my questions which helped make the process so easy for me”. Jamie was very low on energy at that time and this was important to help coordinate things for her and support her. When Jamie arrived at An Oasis of Healing, she said that “I was at the point where I needed an all-inclusive support team because I didn’t want to make any more decisions”. She just wanted a team that would tell her here is what we are going to do to help you heal and then do it and that’s what she received. Jamie further said, “there’s a whole squad at Oasis helping me at every angle of my healing, it’s not just one treatment or direction. They are targeting and healing the cancer from so many different angles”. Jamie learned that nutrition is one of the foundational pieces of healing in our program. Jamie stated that “I wasn’t just eating the food that was prepared for me, I learned why it was important and how to make it myself for when I returned home”. Jamie was amazed at how accessible Dr. Goodyear was answering any question that I had, walking around the center talking to patients and he would even sit and have lunch with us. She said that “you just don’t get that kind of care in mainstream medicine”. Jamie said that her cancer is “getting better and going away” and that she was returning home to Oregon to continue this new lifestyle on her healing journey. How often should you eat throughout the day is a very popular question, what’s the answer?
Eating is one of life’s simplest joys. Answering the question of how often should you eat throughout the day may disappoint some people who think eating is for pleasuring their tongue. The majority of people have forgotten that the purpose of eating is to fuel the body.
Eating nourishes the body, the mind, and even the spirit. It brings people together. It is a universal activity that people—regardless of gender, age, race, social class or political beliefs—can easily agree on. After all, everyone loves a good meal.
But like all good things, eating too much or too often can have dire consequences. In a new video, An Oasis of Healing founder and integrative oncology expert Dr. Thomas Lodi explains what happens to the body if we eat more often than necessary.
“You shouldn’t eat until what you ate already came out,” he said. “If I eat something and then I eat something else, now I’ve got my colon working, my stomach working—all day every day. What happens if I do that with my muscles? I get wiped out. I get tired. Our gastrointestinal system is overworked and sick.”
Dr. Lodi also points out that most of the cooked food items we eat no longer have enzymes, thus requiring the pancreas to work harder to produce them. Enzymes are “biological molecules” that expedite the rate of almost all the chemical reactions in the cells. They aid in digestion and metabolism and help break down large molecules so the body can absorb it better.
Enzymes “deactivate” when exposed to high temperatures but this does not mean that cooked food should be completely taken out from a regular diet. The human body “absorbs and re-secretes enzymes” to avoid enzyme deficiency.
Raw vs. Cooked Food
Eating some cooked food if you are in good health is okay in moderation if you feel you just have to have it. Raw food should be the majority of your diet which includes green juicing. A cook is a chemist as we know that when food is cooked, the chemistry is altered and changed and that is not a good thing for our health.
Eating vegetables raw to maximizes their nutritional value. For example, cooking cabbage destroys myrosinase, an enzyme that helps prevent cancer, so it is best to eat it fresh and raw. Raw onion is beneficial in preventing cardiovascular diseases while raw garlic has sulfur compounds that have known anti-cancer properties.
So, back to the question: How often should you eat throughout the day?
There are no hard and fast rules on meal frequency. As Dr. Lodi notes, he has met senior Buddhist monks who eat only one meal a day and their bodies are well-adjusted to it.
The idea that eating smaller but more frequent meals throughout the day is ‘healthier’ has been disproved by studies which found that eating many smaller meals does not have a significant effect on fat loss or metabolic rate. At the end of the day, the total amount and quality of food you consume determines the amount of energy used during digestion.
Following Dr. Lodi’s above-mentioned advice, here’s a simple technique: Eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. Once you have gone through a detoxification protocol you will lose the cravings that keep you eating throughout the day. Now, eating once a day becomes that much easier to do.
Eating just one meal a day allows your body to naturally cleanse itself internally and puts you in control of your health. Got more questions? You can always book a consultation with Dr. Lodi.

Alternative Treatments To Breast Cancer https://www.anoasisofhealing.com/patient-testimonials/ This is Joanne F.’s story on how she used alternative treatments for breast cancer to help restore her health. Joanne is from Peoria, AZ and is 42 years old. She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in April of 2018. Joanne and her husband Josh live locally near An Oasis of Healing, so they were able to travel daily to our healing center for her treatment and therapies. Joanne was treated for 8 weeks at An Oasis of Healing. Her original PET scan at another facility showed that Joanne had cancer in a few areas of her breasts and possible lymph nodes. At the beginning of her 8th week here, Dr. Goodyear sent me for another PET scan. What it revealed is the uptake was so low which meant there was no active cancer. Joanne and Josh were thrilled to hear that although still in shock from the good news. Joanne stated that “she was just as shocked when she received her original diagnosis as she was when she found out she was cancer-free”. Joanne became emotional saying how she was so grateful to come out of this feeling so healthy especially around the Holidays and will now be able to spend quality time with her kids. She is grateful that her kids didn’t have to see her become really sick. Her kids had asked her questions during her treatment like, why aren’t you going bald? They asked this because that’s what they associate with cancer, going bald and eventually dying. Those were some tough conversations with our kids. Joanne stated it was great to be able to tell her kids that those things weren’t doing to happen as a result of the treatments, therapies, and detoxification taking place. She stated, “the effects of the ITP treatments and other treatments just don’t stick around or have long terms effects or even short-term effects”. She further stated she and Josh are “super grateful to be on this end of it and just celebrating life and living life with our family and friends”.
